We sell a great variety of high quality Furoshikis. The Japanese Furoshiki can be used for various purposes so please try it.
There are various cloths and dyed cloth products in Japan, for example, the kimono. The Furoshiki is another example. The Furoshiki is used for wrapping articles as a special present in Japan. Compliments of the season, or feelings of thanks etc. can be conveyed with such a present. Moreover, the Furoshiki is an essential tool in daily life, often used instead of a bag, or for storing articles, or for other domestic uses. The pattern of the Furishiki is arranged at the lower right so the design is displayed beautifully when it is wrapped. The Furoshiki is not only used for wrapping but also as a tablecloth, for decorating the wall, as a scarf exploiting its qualities as a crepe drape, or for making a gay Yuzen-printed dress etc. It is possible to use it in many ways. Please use it also for patchwork quilts.
Crepe is a cloth that is woven by alternating a raw silk warp without twist and a raw silk woof with twist more than 3000 times. Then the threads are refined so the twist of the woof returns, and the fine ragged 'Shibo' appears on the front of the cloth. Because of this Shibo, the crepe does not wrinkle easily, and has an elegant feeling, and the diffused reflection from the ragged surface makes for abundant depths of colour after dyeing. It is chiefly used as fine quality kimono cloth. The Yuzen is made with great attention and dyed using several colour patterns in the hand-produced work.
