SAMUE

photoThe 'Samue' is a piece of clothing originally worn only by monks for working in the temple, and at first it was not widely used by other people. It has become more popular recently because it is made of the natural materials cotton and linen, which mean it is comfortable, and efficient at wicking sweat away from the body. It also has the advantage of being cool in summer and warm in winter.

We are sure you will find our product to be very practical in everyday use. Please try it.

How to use the 'Samue'

Please use the Samue in a casual fashion, for example when you relax at home, or when working, instead of an apron.

'Muraito'

This product can be used in all seasons. It is woven with light, splashed patterns, and looks magnificent.

'Kameda-tsumugi'

This is an example of traditional craft cloth of Japan. The cotton from which it is made gives it a natural character and elegance. It is 100% cotton and is suitable for use in three seasons: spring, summer and autumn. It will be enjoyed by those who wish to wear a particularly beautiful and exotic Samue.

Because a 'Samue' is made from cotton and linen it can shrink a little after washing so please order a slightly larger size than you would normally. We are happy to supply extra large items to order. Just tell us your size and we will make it. And contact us by e-mail if you need large items. It may take some time to prepare your order, but we will give you full details by e-mail. Please note that for items larger than LL size there is a 10% surcharge to cover extra material costs.

Variations in monitor specifications might mean the actual product color is slightly different from what you see on your screen.

Attention in handling

The Samue is made entirely of cotton, which is dyed after weaving, therefore the color will definitely fade a little with use. However, it will not fade dramatically, but gradually and naturally as it is washed. There is little risk of the color tainting other clothes but to be safe it is better to wash the Samue separately at first. As for shrinkage, the Samue will shrink considerably if dried in a tumble-drier, so we suggest squeezing lightly and air-drying after washing.

Note: Please reference sizetable.
